Appointments
All patients should arrive 15 minutes prior to their appointment time to complete any necessary paperwork.  If you arrive 15 minutes after your appointment time you may be rescheduled.  Please provide 24 hours notice prior to your appointment for cancellations, this allows us to better serve our patient population and avoid charging for missed visits.

Prescriptions
All prescription refills will be handled via pharmacy fax request.  All prescriptions for controlled substances will be distributed at follow-up appointments only.  Any questions regarding this policy can be addressed with your provider at your next follow-up appointment.

Referrals
If your insurance company requires a referral from your primary care physician, please submit it at the time of your appointment. 

Workers' Compensation
If you are being seen for a work related injury and are covered under a Workers' Compensation claim, we will seek payment from that plan as long as you provide us with the necessary claim contact information to allow us to obtain authorization in advance of your appointment.  Otherwise, you are obligated to make payment in full at the time services are rendered.  If your workers' compensation plan denies payment for services rendered, you are responsible for payment in full.  If you have any questions regarding workers' compensation claim you may contact our billing department at (540) 450-0072.

Third Party Liability
We do not hold accounts while third party liability claims are being processed.  This would include Motor Vehicle Claims.  We request payment is made in full at the time services are rendered unless you have a Letter of Protection on file at our office.

Medical Records
Virginia Brain & Spine Center, Inc complies with HIPAA privacy standards, and will treat your medical records confidentially, consistent with our Notice of Privacy Practices.  Your medical records remain confidential and will not be released to anyone without your written consent.  For your convenience you may print and complete the Medical Records Release Form here.  You may return this to us via fax at (540) 450-2333, signed and we will promptly forward your medical records.  You may contact our medical records department at (540) 450-0072.
