Michael Poss, M.D.

Dr. Poss received his medical degree and completed his residency training in anesthesiology at the Wake Forest   University Baptist School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After receiving his degree, Dr. Poss served as an intern and a medical officer with the U.S. Navy and the Marine Corps, eventually earning the rank of Commander, Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy Reserve.

A certified Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice, Dr. Poss also holds board certifications from the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians.

For over a decade, he has been treating patients at facilities across Virginia, including Anesthesia Associates of Roanoke and Blue Ridge Anesthesia and Pain Services in Culpeper. He currently cares for patients as an interventional pain physician at Virginia Brain and Spine Center in Winchester.

N. Scott Ashcraft, D.O.

Dr. Ashcraft received his pharmacy degree from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy and he received his medical degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.  He completed his anesthesiology residency and his Interventional Pain Fellowship at the University of Kentucky.  Dr. Ashcraft was a pharmacist for four years before going to medical school.

As a Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesia, Dr. Ashcraft also holds board certifications in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Management from the American Board of Anesthesia.  He is a member of the International Spine Intervention Society.

Dr. Ashcraft has over 18 years experience in interventional pain management.  He has spent the last few years at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina treating Wounded Warriors, Special Forces, 82nd Airborne, and dependants.  He will be joining Dr. Poss as an interventional pain physician at Virginia Brain and Spine Center on August 1, 2012.

Brian Lapp, PA-C

Lapp graduated with a Bachelor's in Physical Education from Wittenberg University, a Master's in Exercise Physiology from Miami University, and a Master's in Medicine-Physician Assistant from Western Michigan University. 

Maria Read, NP-C

Read graduated with a Bachelor's and a Master's in Nursing from George Mason University.
